Contest Information

The 2009 Pacific NW Regional ACM Programming Contest will be held at Brigham Young University Hawaii on November 7, 2009. We hope that this page holds all of the information necessary for competitors in the competition.

All events occur in the BYUH General Classroom Building (GCB).

Saturday, November 7th

  • 6-7 AM - Teams check-in at lobby of GCB
  • 7-8 AM - Orientation/instructions
  • 8-9 AM - Practice contest in GCB 140
  • 9-10 - Debriefing/Q&A in GCB 140
  • 10 AM - 3 PM - THE CONTEST! in GCB 140
  • 3 - ?? PM - Pizza and awards
  • (This schedule will be followed as closely as possible, but there may be changes implemented the day of the contest.)

Accommodations

If your travel schedule requires you to come to Oahu the day before the contest, we recommend staying at Turtle Bay. (The more modestly-priced Laie Inn is, alas, shutting its doors for good on Oct 31.)

Finding your way onto BYUH campus:

The contest and all associated events will occur at the General Classroom Building (GCB) at Brigham Young University Hawaii, 55-220 Kulanui Street, Laie, HI 96762.

Finding check-in and parking once on campus:

To find the GCB on campus, please refer to this map. There is a large parking lot adjacent to the GCB, which should have plenty of open spaces on Saturdays.

  • Plaques and prizes will be awarded through 7 places.
  • In addition, all site winners will receive a plaque and prize.
